Adler had predicted
John Kerry 's large victory over George Bush during the 2004 presidential election. A month before the beginning of operations against Iraq, he declared to "Le Figaro" (March 8, 2003): "The war might well not take place." Following the Italian 2001 general election won bySilvio Berlusconi , he first declared that the victory of "Forza Italia "'s leader was a "moral catastrophe... One can approach the figures of Mussolini and Berlusconi" [ "Le Courrier International ", May 3, 2001 ] , before stating, three weeks later: "Berlusconi's total victory will finally permit to eradicate the [Northern League (Italy)| [Northern] League] ... It is in itself a victory of democracy." [ "L'Expansion ", May 23, 2001 ] [ Concerning these failed predictions, see [http://www.monde-diplomatique.fr/2005/06/REYMOND/12563 Alexandre Adler, portrait d’un omniscient] (Alexandre Adler, portrait of an omniscient) by "Le Monde diplomatique ", June 2005 fr icon ]References
