Almond Elementary School is an elementary school located on Almond Avenue in Los Altos, California. It is a Kindergarten-6 grade school. Almond has the highest Academic Performance Index (API) scores in the well-regarded Los Altos School District.

Almond's interim principal for 2007-2008 was Joe McCreary. Significant controversy erupted when McCreary was not selected for the permanent role in April 2008. Demographics

Almond is approximately two-thirds white and one-third Asian. Almond has no Native American students. However, many of their Asian students are of Indian descent.

History

The 2003-2004 students of Almond had to attend "Almond Eagle Ranch" located at Egan while Almond was renovating. The year Almond moved back, Egan began their own renovation projects.
