The station has been on the air since 1973 but an AM station (co-owned and off the air since the early 1990's) with the same call letters dates back to 1959. WKTJ is the only commercial radio station located in Franklin County, Maine (TheUniversity of Maine at Farmington operates a non-commercial station on 100.1. With it being the only local radio station in the Farmington area, the station is widely listened to in the community, with live DJs throughout the day, local features and local sports during the Fall and Winter months.Programming History
