Rio Hondo (New Mexico)

Rio Hondo is the name of either of two rivers in the state of New Mexico, USA.

In northern New Mexico, the Rio Hondo begins high in the Sangre de Cristo Mountains near Taos Ski Valley and flows for approximately convert|20|mi|km into the Rio Grande. Portions of the Rio Hondo are prized as prime spots for bird-watching and fishing. The Rio Hondo in the southern part of the state runs for approximately convert|8|mi|km from the confluence of the Rio Ruidoso and the Rio Bonito, through the town of Roswell, and then empties into the Pecos River.
