"Amanda's" (also known as "Amanda's by the Sea") was a short-lived television sitcom based on the popular 1970s British sitcom "Fawlty Towers" which aired on ABC from February 10, 1983 to May 26, 1983.

Beatrice Arthur starred as the main character, Amanda Cartwright, a role similar to the Maude Findlay character she portrayed on "Maude" from 1972-78. Amanda was the owner of a seaside hotel called "Amanda's by the Sea" whose staff included her son Marty (Fred McCarren), his spoiled wife Arlene (Simone Griffeth), Earl the chef (Rick Hurst) and Aldo the bellhop (Tony Rosato).

"Amanda's" was cancelled in May 1983 after a short, four-month run and 10 episodes (3 more episodes remained unaired). This was Beatrice Arthur's first return to series television since "Maude" went off the air in 1978. Two years later in 1985, she would return to television on the more successful series "The Golden Girls".

Other stars on "Amanda's" included Jerry Stiller, Leonard Stone and Todd Susman. The show was filmed in front of a live studio audience at ABC Studios, 4151 Prospect Avenue in Hollywood, California.
