AccessedMarch 9 ,2008 .] and attendedDumont High School , where he was a member of the band and played the trombone.Rickly co-owns
Astro Magnetics , animprint ofEyeball Records and has worked closely with bands such asThe Blackout Pact . Rickly is also a producer for many hardcore and emo-styled bands, most notably producingMy Chemical Romance 's 2002 debut album "I Brought You My Bullets, You Brought Me Your Love ".Rickly has contributed guest vocals to many songs, including
My American Heart 's "We Are The Fabrication", Murder by Death's "Killbot 2000" andThis Day Forward 's "Sunfalls and Watershine". Geoff also occasionally performs solo, most recently inHoboken, New Jersey at theEyeball Records holiday party, performingAutumn Leaves Revisited andThis Side of Brightness acoustic.Rickly originally attended college at
Rutgers University , with intentions of becoming a teacher, but abandoned the idea when Thursday became his full passion. Before Thursday, however, he andJoe Darone were members of Useless. Thursday's origins lie in the basement of Rickly's parents' New Brunswick home, where many other New Brunswick bands also played. Most notably, You and I's final show was held there in 1999.Lyrically, Rickly has been known to draw from a wide variety of influences. A tattoo on his forearm reads "love is love", a lyric from Frail's "Love"; Rickly adopted these lyrics into Thursday's "A Hole In The World". Thursday's "Autobiography Of A Nation" is clearly influenced by
poet Michael Palmer 's " [http://www.diacenter.org/prg/poetry/87_88/palmer3.html Sun] ".In 2005, Rickly was diagnosed with
epilepsy while on tour. As a side effect of prescribed medication he took for this, he began to suffer from internal stomach bleeding, and consequently, Thursday were forced to cut their tour short.Rickly is currently writing and recording with
Glassjaw singerDaryl Palumbo and rock columnist,Jonah Bayer , for United Nations, agrindcore collaboration. Rickly [http://www.punktastic.com/interviews/182 insists] that although seven songs have been recorded (as of March 30, 2007), his main effort will remain Thursday, and United Nations will only receive ideas not fit for Thursday.References
