Unterseeboot 43 (U-43) was a German Type IX U-boat of the Kriegsmarine.
Her keel was laid down August 15, 1938, by AG Weser of Bremen. She was commissioned August 26, 1939 with Kapitänleutnant Wilhelm Ambrosius in command.
"U-43" conducted fourteen patrols, as part of the 2. Unterseebootsflottille and 6. Unterseebootsflottille.
Fate
On July 30, 1943, "U-43" was sunk in position coord|34|57|N|35|11|W|scale:20000000, by a Fido homing torpedo from an Avenger aircraft from the USS Santee.
