Tetrahydroxyborate

Tetrahydroxyborate, [H4BO4] or B(OH)4, is a boron oxoanion with a tetrahedral geometry.

B(OH)4 is formed by the addition of hydroxide, OH, to boric acid, B(OH)3:

:B(OH)3 + OH unicode|⇌ B(OH)4

The tetrahydroxyborate anion is found in Na2 [B(OH)4] Cl and CuII [B(OH)4] Cl.
