Zhongshan (warship)

Zhongshan (warship)

Zhongshan, originally named "Yongfeng", was a Chinese warship later renamed after Dr. Sun Yat-sen in 1925, the great forerunner of the Chinese Democratic Revolution. During its time in service, the warship was involved in the Zhongshan Warship Incident in 1926 and the battle of Wuhan in the Second Sino-Japanese War (1937-1945). It was bombed and sunk in the Yangtze River by Japanese invaders on October 24, 1938.
