Arthur Wood (cricketer, born 1892)

Arthur Wood (cricketer, born 1892)

Arthur Wood (February 7, 1892 — March 1, 1951) was an English cricketer. He was a right-handed batsman and a right-arm medium-fast bowler. Wood represented Derbyshire between 1911 and 1912. He was born in Derby and died in Norwood, Surrey.

Wood debuted in the 1911 County Championship season, which saw Derbyshire finish fourteenth in the table with 14.4 percent of their total possible points percentage from eighteen games played. Wood made two half-centuries during his first season, his highest a total of 52 against Nottinghamshire.

1912 saw a decline in form, though a top score of 25 still showed some potential for a player in the lower-middle order. As Derbyshire cleared their ranks in 1912, Wood was one player to leave, and he never again played first-class cricket.
