Ilac Shopping Centre

Ilac Shopping Centre (foremerly "ILAC Centre", ILAC standing for Irish Life Assurance Corporation, the firm that built it) is one of the two shopping malls on Henry Street, Dublin, Republic of Ireland, the other being Jervis Shopping Centre. It has entrances opening onto Henry Street, Parnell Street and Moore Street.

History

Ilac Shopping Centre was built in the 1980s, and is the oldest shopping centre in the city centre. In recent years, the shopping centre has been extensively refurbished, with many improvements including full-height shop fronts, improved lighting, and new entrances.

The Centre is home to a wide range of shops, including H&M, Debenhams and Dunnes Stores to name but a few. Ireland's first hot vending food outlet, Grab & Go, can also be found in the Centre.The first floor of the Centre is occupied by Dublin's Central Library. The Central Library provides a range of services including language learning facilities, and a Music and Business Library.There is also a small chapel located in the shopping centre.
