Tallahassee, Florida , first opened up in the fall of 2001. It is located in theRoman Catholic Diocese of Pensacola-Tallahassee . It is the first Catholic high school to be founded in Tallahassee. The first graduating class was in2004 , with the first charter class graduating the next year, in2005 . John Paul II has a campus that includes a fully equipped gymnasium, chapel, main building, soccer field, and baseball field; with plans of new construction in the next decade.Administration

John Paul II, also referred to as "JP2", has always had a large amount of student participation in the arts. It has received notice for its active drama department (which recently put on its production of "
Godspell ") led by Mr. George Wilkerson, Jr. who is the main director for the musical and dramatic arts, a chorus that competes state-wide in choral competitions, a growing band program, and a highly celebrated creative arts department led by Mr. Po-chi Chu that has competed in art competitions and has been showcased at varies museums and shows throughout Tallahassee. John Paul II puts on an annual arts and music festival known as "SouthWoodstock", which showcases both student and outside artists and musicians alike.The 2007-2008 season of performances for John Paul II is as follows:
