Urban Contemporary radio station serving the Greater Tulsa area. It is owned by Perry Broadcasting and is licensed toBixby, Oklahoma .History
KJMM signed on the air in 1994 as the Urban Contemporary-formatted station for Tulsa. It was one of three original Urban stations launched with the help of Perry Broadcasting, an
African-American -based media company under the "Power Jammin'" network (KVSP inOklahoma City andKJMZ in Lawton are the other two) at a time when the owner believed the African-American community was underserved in the radio media. Nevertheless, the station played Hip Hop, R&B, Rap and Gospel over the years and was originally called "Fresh Jamz 105." In 2004, KJMM changed its name to "105.3 K-Jamz", began carrying theDoug Banks Morning Show -- while sending the previously-airedTom Joyner Morning Show to sister stationKGTO , anUrban AC station underABC Radio 's "The Touch" network. In December 2007, KJMM became the new affiliate of theLos Angeles -based Big Boy's Neighborhood, replacing Doug Banks.External links
