Level of cell organization
- Level of cell organization
Cell organization is the organization of cells in multicellular organisms. From simplest to complex, it is: atom, element, molecules, protoplasm, organelle cell, tissue, organ, organ system, organism, population, community, ecosystem, biosphere. A cell can be either generalized or specialized. A generalized cell has no specific tasks, and a specialized cell has a specific function. The types of cells are stem cells, germ cells, and somatic cells. Stem cells can perform many functions while somatic cells are basic body cells. A tissue is a group of specialized cells that work together. [ [http://www./curr/Science/sciber00/7th/cells/sciber/levelorg.htm usoe.k12.ut.us] . Retrieved 21 December 2006.]
