Lillie's first season of first-class cricket in 1965–66 was three years before DK Lillee made his first senior representative appearance. They did not appear together in the starting lineup of the same game, however Lillie was twelfth man in a Queensland v Western Australia Sheffield Shield game during the 1980–81 season, and in fact caught DK Lillee in the first innings of that game. The following line appears from that scorecard: DK Lillee c sub (DJ Lillie) b GS Chappell 11
Against South Australia in 1982, he was clobbered by David Hookes for four consecutive sixes, including 28 in an over.[1]
