Episode recap

While Jon is walking up to the house, a salesman leaves counting his money. Unknown that Jon lives there, he suggests selling at that house because the residents will buy anything. Jon concludes that Garfield bought a piece of junk (which turns out to be a life-size statue of Leonardo da Vinci made out of elbow macaroni). Jon then warns Garfield that if he orders one more thing, he will get no more lasagna for the rest of his life; then he leaves to run another errand.
Garfield decides to watch television, and after flipping channels, he lands on the all-buying-stuff channel. The salesman (Herbert Finagle) advertises an elephant repeller, and Garfield begins to order it until he remembers Jon’s warning. Herbert then announces that the next few customers will receive a repeller "free," so Garfield orders it.
When Herbert arrives at the house with the repeller, he informs Garfield that there are additional charges totaling $28, so Garfield closes the door in his face. Herbert keeps sneaking into the house and Garfield keeps throwing him out; after a while Herbert assures Garfield the guarantee that if the repeller doesn’t work, he will pay him one thousand dollars. Garfield finally gives in and buys it.
Jon returns home and is furious that Garfield purchased something else, but Herbert tells him about the $1,000-guarantee before he leaves. Just before he gets into his car, he hears trumpeting. He turns around in horror and sees several elephants surrounding Jon’s house; Jon then asks him about the guarantee. Meanwhile, Garfield decides that one thousand dollars will buy a microwave cheese straightener.

Notes

Quotes

Garfield: You slammed.
Jon: What did you but this time? What useless overprice peice of junk did you spend my money on?
Jon: a life-size statue of Leonardo da Vinci made out with elbow macaroni?
Garfield: Don't tell me. You already have one.
Jon: Garfield, you have to stop buying everything you see! Look what you bought this week: an indoor plastic birdbath; a twenty-seven-year supply of dental floss; a battery-operated battery charger that’s only good for changing its own batteries!
Garfield: It was on sale.
Jon: No More! Do you understand? No More! Now, I'm going out again. If you buy one thing while I'm gone, No lasagna for the rest of your life!

Jon: Garfield, what piece of junk have you bought "this" time?
Herbert: It’s a laser-powered elephant repeller. The best one made.
Jon: There isn’t an elephant within a thousand miles of here!
Herbert: See how good it works? As I was saying, the guarantee is that if is deviceless to keep elephants away, we pay you $1000. Bye now!Jon: Garfield!
