Holte is a town in the municipality of
Rudersdal municipality ,Denmark . It is located betweenRudersdal and the top ofGeel's Hill ("Geels Bakke") on the shores of the Furesø lake.The main road in town is The King's Road ("Kongevejen"), which cuts through the town on its way from the town of
Kongens Lyngby in the southeast tilHillerød northwest of Holte. The town has a number of small lakes and parks, including the large Furesø Park on the shores of the lake. It is partially bounded on the southeast by municipal neighbor Lyngby-Taarbæk's large park, Ravnsholm Park with theMølleå (Mill River).The town of Holte is home to the municipality's
Arne Jacobsen designed Town Hall at the base of Geel's Hill, the Holte railway station, and Holte Harbour inVejlesø lake, where the summerrevue , The Holte Harbour Revue ("Holte Havn Revyen"), takes place.In the center of the town is a shopping center and the main library.
At the top of the hill near Rudersdal is Holte Church ("Holte Kirke"), which was dedicated in 1945.
The town of Old Holte ("Gammel Holte") is ca. 5 km east of the town.
