Holte Baronets

Holte Baronets

The Baronetcy of Holte of Aston was created in the Baronetcy of England for Sir Thomas Holte of Aston Hall, then in Warwickshire, on 25 November 1611.

He was the son of Edward Holte, High Sheriff of Warwickshirein 1583. He was High Sheriff in 1599 and was knighted by King James I in 1603. He was succeeded by his grandson who was Member of Parliament for Warwickshire 1661-1679. The 3rd and 6th Baronets also represented Warwickshire and the 5th Baronet was Member for Lichfield.

The Baronetcy was extinct on the death of the 6th Baronet in 1782 and the substantial estate was broken up, under an Act of Parliament of 1817, in order to meet the interests of the various claimants.
