Rosamond Mary Monckton or Rosa Monckton, (born October 26, 1953), is a notable charity fundraiser.

Background

Rosa Monckton is the daughter of Gilbert Monckton, 2nd Viscount Monckton of Brenchley. She is married to the journalist Dominic Lawson and they have two daughters Domenica and Savannah: Domenica Lawson has Down's syndrome. Her godmother was Diana, Princess of Wales.

Rosa Monckton's elder brother is Christopher Monckton, 3rd Viscount Monckton (born February 14, 1952), journalist and creator of the eternity puzzle.

She also has three younger brothers:
*The Honourable Timothy David Robert Monckton (born August 15, 1955)
*The Honourable Jonathan Riversdale St. Quintin Monckton (born August 15, 1955)
*The Honourable Anthony Leopold Colyer Monckton (born September 15, 1960)

Career

Monckton served as CEO of Asprey & Garrard until February 28, 2002 when she became a non-executive chairman of Asprey London and Garrard & Co in the United Kingdom.

Fundraising

Monckton is a notable fundraiser and has worked tirelessly, raising money and supporting several charities relating to children and Down's syndrome. The charities include: The Acorns Children's Hospice for the care of life limited children in the heart of England, Downside Up a Down's syndrome charity in Russia, The Down's Syndrome Educational Trust based in Portsmouth, England which through research provides education, information and training to promote the development of children with Down's syndrome and KIDS also based in England which assists in developing and improving the lives of disabled children.

Diana, Princess of Wales' alleged pregnancy

Regarding the issue of Diana, Princess of Wales' alleged pregnancy, Monckton told a BBC documentary in December 2006 on the conspiracy theories surrounding her death, that Diana had had her period while on holiday with Monckton about ten days before she died.
