James Sutton (born James Cook on 31 January 1983) is an English television actor, best known for playing the part of John Paul McQueen in British Channel 4 series "Hollyoaks" since September 2006.

Personal life

He is the oldest of three children, with a younger brother Ben and sister Amy. [http://www.jamessutton.org/bio.htm]

Sutton derived his stage name from his birth town, Sutton Coldfield. He attended The Burton Borough School in Newport,Shropshire.

Hollyoaks was named Broadcast of the Year at the 2007 Stonewall Awards, held at London's Victoria and Albert Museum. The award was given for the portrayal of James Sutton's and Guy Burnet's gay affair storyline. Stonewall, an organisation that campaigns for equality for gay men and women, praised the show for its "sympathetic and convincing handling" of the "gritty and emotional" storyline.
