Chuva Braba (Portuguese meaning Strong Rain) is a Capeverdean novel published in 1957 by Manuel Lopes. The book was awarded the Fernão Mendes Pinto award.[citation needed]

There are a few differing translations. One, entitled, Wild Rain was translated by R. Evora Brito, PH.D., and published in 1982 and re-issued in 1994 by Copy-Masters Inc. in Taunton, MA. (No ISBN available)
