The nearest towns are Univere to the west, Polli and Karksi to the north, and Kovakula to the south. Discus throwers Märt Israel and Margus Hunt hail from there.

Geography

Karksi-Nuia is situated in the southern part of Viljandi County. It has an area of 3 km² and about 2100 inhabitants. It is part of the Karksi Parish, a municipality that consists of the town and the 20 villages around it. Karksi-Nuia is about 34 km from Viljandi, 82 km from Pärnu and Tartu and 100 km from Tallinn.

Administration
