next_route=300State Route 299 is a short west-east state route located entirely in Dade County in the extreme northwestern part of the
U.S. state of Georgia. The route travels fromTenneesee State Route 134 at theTennessee state line west of the community of Hooker toU.S. Route 11 /State Route 58 northeast of Wildwood.Routing
From its western terminus at the Tennessee state line, where Tennessee State Route 134 crosses the state line into Georgia, State Route 299 travels east, passing through the small community of Hooker. East of the community, State Route 299 has an interchange with
Interstate 24 , one of two exits fromInterstate 24 in Georgia (the other beingInterstate 59 ). The route continues east to meet U.S. Route 11/State Route 58 at its eastern terminus.ignificance
While the route sees an Annual Average Daily Traffic of between 2,000 and 5,000 vehicles [http://www.dot.state.ga.us/dot/plan-prog/transportation_data/mapproducts/Documents/Trafficflow_05.pdf] , the route's use as a through route has largely been supplanted by Interstate 24, which passes through the same corridor as State Route 299, and its continuation in Tennessee, Tennessee State Route 134.
