Queensland ,Australia . The shire included the towns of Proserpine, Airlie Beach, Cannonvale and Shute Harbour. It also included the islands of the Whitsundays, including the resort islands ofHamilton Island ,Hayman Island andDaydream Island . The shire is now part ofWhitsunday Regional Council .Proserpine was the administrative centre for the shire.
