September 29 ,1986 ) is an Americanbasketball player. He is currently in the process of transferring to the University of South Florida. Born inAnaheim, California , Mercer grew up inSnellville, Georgia , where he was a teammate ofLouis Williams atSouth Gwinnett High School . Both Mercer and Williams committed to play at Georgia in 2004, but Williams opted for the2005 NBA Draft , ending up as thePhiladelphia 76ers ' second round pick. Mercer went on the play for the Georgia Bulldogs as one of the top Southeastern Conference (SEC) freshmen in 2005/06.Collegiate career

February 10 ,2007 , Mercer tore a knee ligament during a road game against theSouth Carolina Gamecocks and missed the last ten games of the season.
