Olympic medal record Sailing Gold 1972 Munich Star class David John Forbes (born 26 January 1934) is an Olympic-level sailor, who has competed for Australia in the 1968 Summer Olympics, in the 1972 Summer Olympics, and in the 1976 Summer Olympics.
In 1968 he was the helmsman of the Australian boat which won finished eighth in the Star.
Four years later he won the gold medal as helmsman of the Australian boat in the Star.
In 1976 he was the helmsman of the Australian boat which finished eleventh in the Soling.
Forbes attended Newington College (1943-1949). [1]
