The North American Football Confederation was a forerunner to the
CONCACAF as the governing body of football inNorth America until 1961, when it merged with theCCCF /Confederacion Centroamericana y del Caribe de Futbol to formCONCACAF .The NAFC name was revived briefly in the early 1990s to determine a North American champion. The revival was abandoned with the creation of the
Gold Cup .Nations
