NuvoSonic

NuvoSonic

It has swimmer detection, underwater hailing by voice, and non-lethal deterrent.

It uses a sonar system called Parametric Port Security Sonar System (P2S3), which uses a narrow-beam sound technology called Parametric Array Sonic Echo Ranging (PASER, which is a tradename).

It claims to be able to detect divers at distances up to 2 kilometers = 1.24 miles.

NuvoSonic has developed several products:-

  • To secure a large area around objects surrounded by water.
  • Sonar barriers to monitor choke points.[1]
  • Distributed acoustic barrier systems.
  • Smaller sensors for scanning the underside of tankers, cruise ships, and other surface vessels.
  • Small sensors that can be carried by a diver or by an Autonomous Underwater Vehicle (AUV), e.g. by a patrol diver looking for submerged unauthorized divers.
