Campus Middle School consists of a single school building. It has four stories, and elevators and ramps to support children with disabilities. CMS has two gyms, an east and a west gym. Most grade-level classrooms are grouped by floor. It also has a large gifted and talented program, as well as accelerated classes to support the needs of children at all levels.Campus Middle School is located next to Belleview Elementary School and the east building of

The CMS school year has four quarters. It uses a traditional schedule, including a summer, winter, fall, spring, and Thanksgiving break.
CMS school hours are from 8:25 a.m. to 3:35 p.m. The day has 8 class periods. There are four "core" periods, two "elective" periods, a lunch period.
Classes
Core Classes
In every grade, each student is required to take four core classes. These are:
* Social Studies: In sixth grade, students study the Western hemisphere. In seventh grade, students study the Eastern Hemisphere. In eighth grade, students study U.S. history and government.
* Language Arts: Basic, Advanced, and Honors programs are offered for all grades.
* Math: Math classes range from basic sixth grade math to Geometry(Honors). Some students also go toCherry Creek High School to take Algebra 2/Trigonometry (honors) and higher.
* Science: Science classes are within a similar subject range, but students learn more and go deeper into the individual subjects as they progress.Electives
Each student has two elective periods. During each period, a student can choose between four quarter-long classes or a year long class.Quarter long classes are typically technology, art, physical education, and health classes. In sixth grade, students can also take beginning foreign language classes. In the eighth grade, students can take quarter-year long guitar classes. Year-long classes are typically music instruction or foreign language courses. In music, there is a choir, band, and orchestra class. Foreign languages include Spanish and French. 8th grade students may also opt to become a Teacher's Assistant.Students occasionally take foreign language classes at Cherry Creek High School.

CMS served 1,256 students in 2006. 82.8% were Caucasian, 7.6% were Asian American, 6% were Hispanic American, 3.4% were African American, and < 1% were Native American. About 6% of students were offered free or reduced meals.
Extracurriculars
Athletics at CMS include track, basketball, wrestling, and volleyball. CMS students compete against other middle schools from
Cherry Creek School District . Amustang is on every gym shirt.Clubs and teams at CMS include anOptimist Brain Bowl team, a fewDestination Imagination teams, a Diversity Task Force, aMathCounts team, aNational Junior Honor Society , language clubs, art club, strategic game club, and technology clubs.In addition to clubs, there is also teacher support outside of school hours through the Academic Support Center. CMS holds two school productions each year, a musical in the spring and a play in the fall. All clubs are supervised by a competent teacher.Recognition
*Campus Middle School has a record of success in
MathCounts . It won first place in the State MathCounts team competition four times, in 1996, 1997, 1998, and 1999. Campus Middle School sent two students to represent Colorado at the 2007MathCounts National Competition, and another to the 2008MathCounts National Competition, in addition to scoring 3rd place team in state after two charter/magnet schools.
*Campus Middle School has been recognized as a John Irwin School of Excellence multiple times.
*Campus Middle School has been recognized as aBlue Ribbon School , which is considered the highest honor that an American school can achieve.
