Transient Gallery

Transient Gallery

The Transient Gallery is an art gallery which has no fixed location. The gallery comes into existence when an exhibition is scheduled for the duration of the showing only.

Design

The first design of the Transient Gallery was that of a series of white placards held up by the artists themselves or volunteers. Art was then exhibited on these placards. This was conceived as a parody of the 'white cube' gallery space which is now the standard in art exhibition.

Exhibitions

* 71 Days71 Days was an exhibition held in central London between 5th - 7th December 2006.

* SW1W 9JRSW1W 9JR was an exhibition held in Belgravia. The title for the show was chosen because it denoted the exact location of the gallery. The exhibition ran from June 5 - 29 and featured the work the main curators plus other up-and-coming artist. The work shown was on a rotational basis giving as many people as possible chance to show their work within the limited time and space.
