Valentine is a suburb of the City of Lake Macquarie in New South Wales, Australia, located convert|20|km|mi|0|lk=on from Newcastle's central business district along the eastern shoreline of Lake Macquarie near the town of Belmont.

Coal mining was performed at Valentine before it became a suburb in the 1950s. The public school opened in 1958. It is now a large residential district, a development commenced in the late 1980s. Valentine boasts a popular and large bowling club.
