Blacksmiths is a coastal suburb of the City of Lake Macquarie in New South Wales, Australia, located on the Pacific Ocean convert|24|km|mi|0|lk=on south of Newcastle's central business district, between the suburbs of Belmont and Swansea.

History

The area was unsuitable for development until 1947, when flood mitigation works were completed. Subdivision took place in 1948. The public school opened in 1962.

Facilities

Blacksmiths is home to Blacksmiths Beach and the southern section of Nine Mile Beach, the Blacksmiths Nature Reserve, a primary school, soccer club and caravan park.
