Olive Loughnane (born 14 January 1976) is an Irish race walker. She has competed in three Olympic Games (2000, 2004 and 2008). Loughnane has represented Ireland at five consecutive editions of the World Championships in Athletics and she won a silver medal at the 2009 World Championships.[1] Loughnane earned $30,000 in prize money from the IAAF for her silver medal. She failed to finish the walk at the 2010 European Athletics Championships.
Born in 1976 in Co Cork, the eldest of seven children. She moved to Carrabane, Co Galway with her family when she was a child only later to return to Cork where she is currently living with her husband and daughter.
She took a win on the 2011 World Race Walking circuit at the Dudinska Patdesiatka in March 2011.[2]
