James Laidler

James Laidler is a radio producer and presenter, born in St Thomas' Hospital in London on March 6, 1985.

He began working as a broadcast assistant at BBC Radio Solent in December 2005 - at one time producing Richard Cartridge - and has since worked for the Dimbleby Election Night programme, BBC Radio Five Live and KM-FM.

He has produced Mike Powell's Sunday afternoon programme, presented weekend travel bulletins and been assistant producer for Jon Cuthill and Tristan Pascoe.

A graduate in Physics at Southampton University [http://gallery.susu.org/gallery-imageview-17622-299.html] , PGDip Multimedia Journalism Bournemouth University [http://courses.bournemouth.ac.uk/3details.asp?programmeCode=MAMMJ] , he was given sponsorship via the BBC News Sponsorship Scheme 2006 (Selected from over 300 applicants nationally to be one of 15 journalism students trained by BBC journalists. He is now a journalist and producer for BBC Breakfast and BBC News 24.
