"Kale borroka" (Basque for 'Street Fighting') refers to urban riots caused by Basque nationalist youth who are integrated into the "
abertzale left".Their tactics include: destroying public property (burning trash bins, burning buses, attacking offices, smashing lampposts,etc.), destroying private property (burning cars, attacking businesses, etc.), armed and hostile aggression against police, promoting and distributing ETA propaganda, brawling in bars, etc.
During ETA's ceasefire from March 2006 to 2007, the "kale borroka" did not cease. On November 2006, Otegi announced to the Spanish government and PNV, that all forms of violence (mainly "kale borroka") would be eliminated in exchange for immunityFact|date=February 2007.
