Catherine Booth Hospital (CBH) is a hospital and nursing school run by the
Salvation Army inNagercoil , Kanyakumari,Tamil Nadu ,India .It is named after
Catherine Booth , the wife ofWilliam Booth , the founder of theSalvation Army .This reputed mission hospital is situated at vadasery nagercoil, which is 24 km away from Kanyakumari. It was started in 1895 when missionary Harry Andrews treated the first patient in a tiny bath room. Since then it has grown in to a 300 bed general hospital with departments of medicine, surgery, obstetrics, gynecology, pediatrics, orthopeadics, ophthalmology, ENT, with well trained, dedicated medical, nursing and allied health staff.
SCHOOL OF NURSING
The school of nursing is added in 1938 and has ever since met the requirements of the Indian nursing council and tamilnadu nurses and midwives council. The programme is approved by government of tamilnadu G.0.M.S.No 1254, health dated 15.4.1952. Our nursing programme is conrolled by the board of nursing education NL., CMAI, SIB bangalore. It is staffed by experienced and dedicated personnel.
