Carole Stone (born
May 30 ,1942 ) is a British author and freelanceradio andtelevision broadcaster. She spent 27 years at theBBC starting as a newsroom secretary and eventually becoming producer of Radio 4's flagship discussion showAny Questions? for ten years until 1990.In 1990 she left to become a freelance reporter and producer, running her own media consultancy. A proponent of networking she is alleged to have gathered over 30,000 people in her contacts database and has been referred to as the 'queen of networking'. She is the author of "Networking: The art of Making Friends" (ISBN 0-09-185711-2) and "The Ultimate Guide to Successful Networking", and holds a get-together annually for her network of 'friends' in addition to a weekly 'salon' at her home in
Covent Garden . OnApril 10 ,2007 she formed ajoint venture with the polling firmYouGov , calledYouGovStone , becoming Managing Director and holding the minority 49% stake, and also joining the main YouGov board.She is a
trustee of theWallace Collection in London, and a patron of SANE. She is married to television journalistRichard Lindley .External links
