Svilojevo (
Serbian Cyrillic : Свилојево, Hungarian: "Szilágyi") is a village inSerbia . It is situated in theApatin municipality, in theWest Bačka District ,Vojvodina province. The population of the village numbering 1,364 people (2002 census), most of whom are ethnic Hungarians.History
In the year 2001, the village celebrated one hundred years from its establishment, and in 2006, recently renovated, the church became a hundred years old.
On the session of the Municipality of Apatin in June 2006,
Hungarian language gain the status of the official language in Svilojevo.
