Air Vice Marshal Sir Victor Hubert Tait, KBE, CB (8 July 1892 –November 27 1988 ) was a Canadian soldier and airman.Born in
Winnipeg, Manitoba , he received a Bachelor of Science degree from theUniversity of Manitoba . DuringWorld War I , he served in theRoyal Canadian Engineers . From 1917 to 1945, he served with theRoyal Flying Corps and theRAF where he rose to the rank ofAir Vice-Marshal . In the 1930s, he served with theEgyptian Air Force . In 1937, he was promoted toGroup Captain . DuringWorld War II , he was Director of Radar and Director-General of Signals at theAir Ministry . In 1940, he was promoted toAir Commodore and toAir Vice-Marshal in 1942. From 1945 to 1956, he was the operations director forBritish Overseas Airways Corporation .He was president of the
British Ice Hockey Association from 1958 to 1971.elected honours
