Björk (book)

"Björk" is a 192-page coffee table book published by the Icelandic singer and composer Björk Guðmundsdóttir that went on sale in August 2001, coinciding with the release of her album "Vespertine".

The book was designed by a famous French graphic design firm called M/M Paris.

"Björk" is a photo documentary of the artist and her rise to stardom. The book doesn't follow a chronological order and is accompanied by photographs selected to illustrate the creative process.

The book is divided into 3 sections:
*Photography: photographs of Björk taken by Nick Knight, Inez Van Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadin, Araki, Chris Cunningham, Juergen Teller, and Craig McDean, among others.
*Words: fragments of text and an interview conducted by Björk with her inspirational hero David Attenborough.
*Contributions ('Four Pages for Björk'): a section for each one of the contributors during Björk's career. The contributors are: Araki, Anton Corbijn, Chris Cunningham, Nick Knight, Glen Luchford, Craig McDean, Juergen Teller, Sir David Attenborough, Rick Poynor, Philippe Parreno, Won Tchoi, Hussein Chalayan, Michel Gondry, Rei Kawakubo, Graham Massey, Jean Baptiste Mondino, Jeremy Scott, Sjón, and Stephane Sednaoui.
