The Port Subdivision is a
railroad line owned byCSX Transportation in theU.S. state ofNew York . At its south end, the Port Subdivision junctions with theCastleton Subdivision andRiver Subdivision ; its north end is at thePort of Albany , served by theAlbany Port Railroad .History
The line was opened by the
New York, West Shore and Buffalo Railway in the 1880s.Fact|date=February 2007 Through mergers, leases, and takeovers, it became part of theNew York Central Railroad andConrail . When Conrail was broken up in 1999, the Port Subdivision was assigned to CSX.References
