Gilding metal

Gilding metal is a copper alloy, comprising 95% copper and 5% zinc. Technically, it is a form of brass.

Gilding metal is used for various purposes, including the cartridges of bullets, driving bands on some artillery shells [http://www.gd-ots.com/sitepages/artillery.html] , as well as enamelled badges and other jewellery.
