Facilities
Camp Olympia offers state of the art facilities all the way down from their cabins to the nurse's station and they are constantly making improvements. Construction finished in May of '07 on an official sized little league baseball field that comes complete with a monster left field wall that will soon be covered in ivy (like
Wrigley Field ), a right field fence that backs up to the waterfront (LikeAT&T Park ), as well asMajor League Baseball style sunk-in dugouts.partan and Athenian
Viewed by many as the greatest part about Camp Olympia. Based on the ancient Greek battles between
Sparta andAthens , this is a daily sports competition that pits the red Spartans against the blue Athenians in mainstream sports as well as more uncommon games such as O-Ball, Bombardment, 3-Ball, Baskerball, and various others. Legend has it that the Spartans swept the Athenians in the summer of '99 taking all four terms and laying claim as the first tribe to sweep the other. There's nothing like the original. After sweeping the summer of '06 and taking the last three terms in '05 the Spartans have won 7 consecutive terms more than halfway to the Athenians unlucky 13 set during the beginning of the new millennium. Of course, at the end of the day, everyone is an Olympian!History
All-American football players Chris Gilbert and
Corby Robertson, Jr. of theUniversity of Texas founded this camp in1968 . This facility has grown to become global year after year with youths from all over the world joining kids in Texas for an exciting and positive camping experience.Famous alumni
