Ontario ,Canada . Parts of the road is named 17th Avenue, and was a rural road, but with growth in York Region expanding beyond Highway 7, the road is now heavily travelled and is becoming more of an urban thoroughfare.It was named after Alexander MacKenzieThe road's western end is broken by both the Humber River and
York Regional Road 27 . It continues west of York Regional Road 27 until it reaches Huntington Road and becomes Coleraine Drive. The broken sections east of York Regional Road 27 continue as Humber River Trail with section broken by the Humber. The eastern end of Major Mackenzie is also broken atNinth Line and becomes 17th Avenue to the York-Durham Line.The road passes through 3 municipalities in York Region, but it does not connect with other roads outside of York Region:

The road was laid out by early settlers in the region to divide the land into farms. Much of the farmland is now gone, as residential development expands in York Region towards the north. Environmentalist and urban planners want the region and province to halt the development of land north of the street, particularly to maintain the well-being of the
