Linda Ann Malcor
Ph.D (bornFebruary 3 ,1962 ) is an American scholar of Arthurian legend. She is one of the proponents of the theory (or related theories) that states that thehistorical basis for King Arthur and theKnights of the Round Table were a second-century Roman officer namedLucius Artorius Castus and Sarmatian auxiliary horsemen, which Artorius supposedly commanded in Britain.Personal life

Malcor earned her
Bachelor of Arts degree with "cum laude " honors in English (minoring in history and comparative literature) fromOccidental College in June 1984. She then went to theUniversity of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), where she earned her Master of Arts degree inFolklore andMythology (Celtic Studies and Narrative) in 1986 and herdoctorate in Folklore and Mythology (Medieval Studies and Indo-European Comparative Mythology) in 1991.Career
She was selected as an Overseas Associate Member of the Late Antiquity Research Group.
Malcor served as one of the consultants on the 2004 movie "King Arthur". It was billed as a historical take on the legends; influenced by the "Artorius/Sarmatian" theory.
