* Victorian Football League, an Australian rules football league formerly known as the Victorian Football Association prior to 1996.
* Australian Football League, the elite level of Australian rules football in Australia that changed its name from the Victorian Football League, which it was known as between 1897 and 1989.
* "Verein für Leibesübungen" (engl. "association for competitive sports"), a set of German sports organisations including VfL Bochum, VfL Osnabrück, VfL Wolfsburg and VfL Gummersbach.
* Vortex Football League, a Canadian sports league similar to the NFL and CFL but uses a different kind of football and field size.
