- Screaming Tunnel
The Screaming Tunnel is an abandoned railway tunnel located in the northwest corner of
Niagara Falls, Ontario , off Warner Road.This tunnel was partially constructed in the early 1900s, however the financial difficulties of the
Grand Trunk Railway in the wake ofWorld War I , resulted in the tunnel never being completed. The tunnel bore was finished however tracks were never installed.Fact|date=July 2008The structure has remained abandoned ever since. Today, it is known as the "Screaming Tunnel", since it is believed that the ghost of a small girl now haunts it. There are numerous versions of the legend,Fact|date=July 2008 however each story ends with a girl being burnt alive and her screams echoing throughout the tunnel. According to one legend, she was burnt alive by her father as a result of a lost custody battle.Fact|date=July 2008 It is said that if one lights a
