Sleeper were originally known as 'Surrender Dorothy'. The band had several hits in the United Kingdom, and had two tracks featured in the film "Trainspotting"; "Atomic", a Blondie cover, and "Statuesque". Sleeper also recorded three full length albums; "Smart", "The It Girl", and "Pleased to Meet You". The band's hit singles include "Inbetweener", "Sale of the Century" and "Nice Guy Eddie".

Wener is now the author of four novels: "Goodnight Steve McQueen", "The Big Blind" (retitled "The Perfect Play") "The Half Life of Stars" and " Worldwide Adventures In Love". She also teaches novel writing and poker courses, and has formed a new band 'Huge Advance' with partner Andy, although they currently only play in and around their residential suburb of Crouch End. Wener is a fan of the London based football team, West Ham United.
