Mark Adkins

Mark Adkins (born 1968) is a punk rock musician from Huntington Beach, California and is most famous for being the lead singer, sole remaining original member and one of the songwriters of the band Guttermouth [ [http://wm06.allmusic.com/cg/amg.dll Mark Adkins on All Music Guide] ] . Early years

Adkins performed in a number of seminal pop punk acts during the early 80s with the most famous being the La Habra band, Republic for who he played bass guitar between 1982 and 1988. In late 1988, Adkins left Republic to join Critical Noise, which after relocating to Huntington Beach in 1989, and undergoing numerous lineup changes became Guttermouth [ [http://www.punknews.org/bands/guttermouth Early Years] ] .

Guttermouth years

Most famous for being the leader and singer of the band Guttermouth, Adkins is known for his energetic and deliberately offensive performances. His brashness, on stage presence and ability to incite a riot have drawn comparisons to GG Allin.Fact|date=September 2007 Adkins quick wit and low brow humour are known generally beyond punk rock circles. He has also been described as always providing a spectacle, along with being charming, silly, hilarious and Hairy! [ [http://www.synthesis.net/music/story.php?type=story&id=145 An Interview with Mark Adkins] ] Adkins was also arrested in 1995 after a performance at the Glen Helen Blockbuster Pavilion in San Bernardino on charges of "assault with a deadly weapon" after using his onstage microphone to incite the crowd into a near-riot. Adkins also encountered problems in Saskatoon, Canada when incidents of onstage nudity prompted legal action against him on charges of public indecency. Adkins was deported back to the U.S. and touring continued, but Guttermouth was unable to re-enter or work in Canada for several years.
