Adkins performed in a number of seminal
pop punk acts during the early 80s with the most famous being theLa Habra band, Republic for who he playedbass guitar between 1982 and 1988. Most famous for being the leader and singer of the band Guttermouth, Adkins is known for his energetic and deliberately offensive performances. His brashness, on stage presence and ability to incite a riot have drawn comparisons to

Adkins also encountered problems inSaskatoon, Canada when incidents of onstage nudity prompted legal action against him on charges ofpublic indecency . Adkins was deported back to the U.S. and touring continued, but Guttermouth was unable to re-enter or work in Canada for several years.References
