Rich Mancuso

Rich Mancuso (born May 10, 1945, New York City, New York) was the Republican candidate for Congress in Colorado’s 2nd congressional district challenging incumbent Democrat Mark Udall in the 2006 mid-term election.

Biography

Mancuso graduated from New Dorp High School on Staten Island. Following graduation from high school, he attended Winona State University (WSU). After earning a B.A. degree, Mancuso entered the United States Army. Rich served as a Psychiatric Specialist at Fitzsimons Army Medical Center in Denver. After Mancuso was honorably discharged in 1970, he returned to WSU where he earned his teaching certification. He received his M.S. degree from WSU in 1974. After seven years as a small business owner in Minnesota, Mancuso returned to Colorado where he continued business ownership after three years as a stockbroker with Boettcher and Company.

Mancuso is a history teacher at D'Evelyn Junior/Senior High School. Mancuso was recognized as the 2004 D’Evelyn Teacher of the Year and was recently nominated to “Who’s Who Among America’s Teachers.” Currently, Rich is a member of the Mountain Foothills Rotary Club, a Paul Harris Fellow, and was a Charter Member and past President of the Conifer Rotary Club. Active in the Rotary Youth Leadership Association, Mancuso served both as a Senior Counselor and a Board Member. Rich continues to support Project Cure, Denver Rescue Mission, and HIV CareLink.

Marriage and children

In 1969 he married Carol who passed away in 1991. Son Chris, his wife and two daughters, live in Evergreen. Son David, his wife and their two sons, live in Pleasanton, California.

Philosophical and/or political views

Mancuso, a lifelong Republican, has worked on numerous local, state, and national campaigns and a delegate to county and state assemblies. He is past President of the High Country Republican Club.
